Selangor FC have successfully qualified for the ACC Shopee Cup™ final after defeating Nam Dinh FC 2-0 in yesterday’s second-leg semi-final, securing a 4-1 aggregate victory.

The match was intense from start to finish, with both teams battling fiercely in attack and defence. Chrigor Moraes emerged as the Red Giants’ hero, converting a penalty in the 40th minute to open the scoring before later sealing the victory in the dying moments with a goal assisted by Zikri Khalili. Nam Dinh FC fought hard to change the scoreline but were unable to break through Selangor FC’s solid defence at Thien Truong Stadium. This win confirms Selangor FC’s place in the ACC Shopee Cup™ 2025/26 final in their debut season.

According to Selangor FC head coach Kim Pan-gon, the team’s performance demonstrated that they fully deserved their place in the final.

“First of all, I am very proud of the players. They showed remarkable commitment, determination, and teamwork, executing the game plan excellently. Despite facing strong attacks from Nam Dinh FC, the players remained composed, followed the planned system, and successfully scored the opening goal. Their performance reflects the qualities we have been building over time,” said Kim Pan-gon, praising his players.

“We studied Nam Dinh FC carefully and prepared a strategy to counter them, but they are a strong team. Overall, I believe Selangor FC fully deserve to be in the final, and we will continue to give our best in every match. I also want to thank the Red Giants’ supporters, both those who attended the stadium and those cheering from home. Your support means a great deal, and we will always fight for you,” he added.

The final will be played over two legs, with Selangor FC facing reigning champions Buriram United FC on 20 May at MBPJ Stadium, Kelana Jaya at 9:00 pm, and on 27 May at Buriram Stadium, Buriram at 8:00 pm (Malaysian time).

Additionally, this week Selangor FC will face another crucial closing match of the 2025/26 Super League season, hosting PDRM FC on Sunday, 17 May at 8:15 pm.
